Macedonian Friendship Group formed in Brussels, briefly attended by Golden Dawn

Twenty-six members of the European Parliament, led by Croatian MEP Marijana Petir, set up late Tuesday the Friends of Macedonia Group in the European Parliament.
The group, which also functioned as part of the EP’s previous composition, will serve as a bridge of friendship between the European Parliament and Macedonia in a bid to speed up the country's EU integration process.

"The group's main goal is to help Macedonia to commence the accession talks, as we believe that the country has been unfairly in the waiting room for 10 years. We consider that EU is breaching the good, regular practices when is accepts a bilateral issue to be an obstacle for launching the accession talks," Petir said, inviting all MEPs to join the group.


Asked to comment the attempts of Greek MEPs, representing the 'Golden Dawn' party, to prevent the group's establishment, Petir said her country recognized Macedonia under its constitutional name and it should be referred to by its factual name. She called on Greek colleagues to join the group of friendship, as 'problems may be resolved via dialogue, not by threats or accusations,' MIA reports from Brussels.
Three MPs from Greek nazi symphatizers Golden Dawn attempted to interrupt the gathering by screaming obscenities at the guests. After being ignored by everyone at the gathering, they left, but not after issuing more threats this time towards the Macedonian Foreign Ministers and the media. 

According to Nikola Poposki, the Macedonian Foreign Minister, today's event is a step towards meeting the country’s aspiration - opening of accession talks.

"It's vital that in the European Parliament we have a group of friends championing the fact that it is necessary the European part of the commitment to be fulfilled. Macedonia’s part (of the commitment) is still connected to full implementation of the political agreement and organization of elections, as regulated in the agreement, whereas Europe’s part (of the agreement) is to draft a report afterwards containing a concrete recommendation for start of negotiations with Macedonia," Poposki told the media.

Griechenland: 2,5 MRD Euro Stromschulden – Versorger schaltet bald erste 50.000 Kunden ab!

In Griechenland wird der staatliche Stromversorger in Kürze damit beginnen in einem ersten Schritt 50.000 Stromkunden den Saft abzudrehen. Die Außenstände belaufen sich insg. auf 2,5 Milliarden Euro. Betroffen werden vor allem Firmenkunden sein. Eine Katastrophe für die (vorhandene?) Konjunkturerholung. Es gibt einen handfesten Grund, warum die Höhe der Stromrechnungen in den letzten Jahren explodierte… Griechenlands staatlicher Stromversorger PPC hat Außenstände bei Stromkunden von insg. 2,5 Milliarden Euro, 1,8 Milliarden davon bei gewerblichen Kunden. Schulden haben insg. 2,1 Mio Stromkunden in Griechenland. Wenn man das umlegt auf die Gesamtsumme, wären das rein rechnerisch 1.190 Euro Schulden pro Stromkunde, aber bei 1,8 von 2,5 Milliarden Schulden durch gewerbliche Kunden dürften die Privatkunden natürlich deutlich kleinere Summen offen haben. Griechenland: Sozialkassen schaffen parallele Staatsverschuldung

FMW-Redatkion Die Sozialkassen in Griechenland schaffen derzeit eine Art parallele Staatsverschuldung. Da die annehmen, dass ihre Löcher aus den jetzt fließenden 86 Milliarden Euro vom 3. Hilfspaket nicht gestopft werden, haben sie angefangen in Eigenregie Kredite aufzunehmen. Da sie Rentenfonds, Krankenkassen etc staatliche Einrichtungen sind, erhöht sich damit per Saldo die Staatsschuldenlast Griechenlands noch weiter, auch wenn der Staat Griechenland kaum darum bemüht sein dürfte diese Extra-Schulden in seine eigenen Schulden einzurechnen. Aber Schulden sind Schulden. Wie die angesehene griechische Zeitung „Ekathimerini“ berichtet, hat das „Social Insurance Institute“ im August ein kurzfristiges Darlehen (wird wohl eine Dauerumschuldung) über 110 Mio Euro aufgenommen. 70 Mio davon gab man an seinen öffentlichen Versicherungsfonds weiter, 40 Mio davon an seinen kommunalen Versicherungsfonds. The movie, entitled The People’s Revolution Upon the Ministers' Wives, has been produced by Sirina (Siren) Productions and can be included in the genre of “politicised or austerity porn”. “2012.
