Prospects for cooperation between Greece and Macedonia discussed in Thessaloniki

The potential for investments in free economic zones and bilateral cooperation between Greece and Macedonia were in the focus of the event, organized today by the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and the Office for Consular, Economic and Trade Affairs of Macedonia.

Greek media report that TCCI Chairman Dimitrios Bakatselos and Macedonia’s Minister for Foreign Investments Jerry Naumoff addressed the event.

“There are many opportunities for enhancement of bilateral cooperation. Macedonia offers a friendly business environment that is attractive to many investment initiatives, while Greece is a mature economy that can be considered the entry door to EU, but also offers significant opportunities in many sectors, such as tourism, transport and energy”, said Bakatselos.

He stressed the countries’ business communities have developed proper economic cooperation that can be further enhanced  in commercial and economic terms.

Naumoff presented benefits offered to foreign investors, including the free economic zones and lowest operational costs in Europe.

The minister referred to Macedonia’s investment potentials in the fields of services, industry, new technologies and IT, agriculture, wine, tourism, minerals and film industry.
