Greek Media: Confidence Measures between Skopje and Athens Open Way for Greater Trust
Greek media reported mostly about the 11 confidence measures agreed between Macedonia and Greece at Wednesday's meeting of the foreign ministers, Nikola Poposki and Nikos Kotzias respectively.
It appears that the information on Wednesday's meeting between Kotzias and the Macedonian state top has been reported almost without any comments. Instead, media focused on the eleven confidence measures that 'open the way for greater trust between the two countries'.
"Confidence can move mountains," Greek media cited Kotzias, adding that he stressed that Greece was prepared to use all means and expertise to contribute to Skopje's European prospect.
The internet portal News.gr highlights Kotzia's statement that 'the existence of Skopje is a gift for the Balkans', and then it also reiterates, same as the other media, that the 11 confidence measures open the road for the establishment of trust between the two countries.

Ethnos reveals details that Kotzias arrived in Skopje with a car from Thessaloniki, 'having into consideration the fact that Greek planes do not land on the Skopje airport after it was renamed Alexander the Great'.
"After the talks at the Foreign Ministry, Kotzias and Poposki tried to send a message of cooperation and determination to solve the open issues without hiding the problems," Ethnos reads.
According to Kathimerini, the Wednesday's visit of the Greek foreign minister in 'the capital of the neighboring country' and the confidence measures between Athens and Skopje are an attempt to restart the bilateral relations 'in the shadow of a serious political crisis in Macedonia and the critical situation in Greece'.
"Kotzias and his counterpart, Nikola Poposki, announced the total of 11 measures in the area of culture, trade, investments and education, in order to open 'the road for trust', which will in due time contribute to the solution of the heated name issue and full restoration of the good neighborly relations. However, it is likely that Kotzias' visit to Skopje and the meetings with the political top, from prime Minister Gruevski and President Ivanov, to Ali Ahmeti and Menduh Thaci, that took place in a very positive environment, given that Petros Molyviatis was the last foreign minister who visited Macedonia 11 years ago, were more important than the measures themselves," Kathimerini notes.
After the meetings held in Skopje, the Greek foreign minister returned to Thessaloniki from where he traveled to Serbia.
