Greek-Macedonian Situation Does Not Allow Progress in Name Dispute

The meeting between Kotzias and Nimetz did not give any special news giving that the current situation between Macedonia and Greece does not allow materialization of any initiative that could create real hope for overcoming the impasse of the name dispute.

This was written today in the Greek newspaper “Ethnos” about the brief meeting between Nikos Kotsias and Methew Nimetz held on Friday in New York.

Chief of the Greek diplomacy after the last week meeting with Nimetz and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said that they discussed the name dispute negotiations and the confidence-building measures.


“In Budapest, where I was two weeks ago, we have changed lists of points about the confidence-building measures and as we have seen in the past ten days, there is a match in the views about certain points that could serve as a starting point for dialogue”, Kotzias informed referring to the meeting with Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki in Hungary.

Schulden haben insg. 2,1 Mio Stromkunden in Griechenland. Wenn man das umlegt auf die Gesamtsumme, wären das rein rechnerisch 1.190 Euro Schulden pro Stromkunde, aber bei 1,8 von 2,5 Milliarden Schulden durch gewerbliche Kunden dürften die Privatkunden natürlich deutlich kleinere Summen offen haben. FMW-Redatkion Die Sozialkassen in Griechenland schaffen derzeit eine Art parallele Staatsverschuldung. Da die annehmen, dass ihre Löcher aus den jetzt fließenden 86 Milliarden Euro vom 3. Hilfspaket nicht gestopft werden, haben sie angefangen in Eigenregie Kredite aufzunehmen. Da sie Rentenfonds, Krankenkassen etc staatliche Einrichtungen sind, erhöht sich damit per Saldo die Staatsschuldenlast Griechenlands noch weiter, auch wenn der Staat Griechenland kaum darum bemüht sein dürfte diese Extra-Schulden in seine eigenen Schulden einzurechnen. Aber Schulden sind Schulden. Wie die angesehene griechische Zeitung „Ekathimerini“ berichtet, hat das „Social Insurance Institute“ im August ein kurzfristiges Darlehen (wird wohl eine Dauerumschuldung) über 110 Mio Euro aufgenommen. 70 Mio davon gab man an seinen öffentlichen Versicherungsfonds weiter, 40 Mio davon an seinen kommunalen Versicherungsfonds.
