Greeks upset of eventual U.S. pressure for Macedonia’s entry into NATO

Greece has problem with the name of Skopje, in the wake of September’s NATO summit scheduled to be held in Cardiff, UK, writes the Greek newspaper “Paron”.

- U.S. attitude has come so far as they strongly advocate for Skopje’s entry into NATO and it can affect the positions of other countries, which are for Macedonia’s integration in NATO and in favor of opening accession negotiations with the EU, the newspaper writes.

As MIA informs, the same newspaper in another text blames Greek diplomats in Athens and Washington for not being present at the conference “Towards Europe whole and free,” which was organized by the Atlantic Council of the United States held in Washington and where spoke ministers from the region, Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden, Secretary of State John Kerry and many leaders and experts in the field of foreign and security policy.

- We admire the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki for being invited to speak at one of the most important conferences organized by the Atlantic Council in Washington, where among others spoke the Vice President Biden and Secretary of State Kerry, writes “Paron”.

Noting that Poposki in Washington had used its constitutional name, the newspaper said that in his addressing, he reiterated the strategic goal of Macedonia to join NATO, “explaining that it is largely prevented by Greece.”

- Do not ask, Greeks did not participated, judging by the level and composition of the Greek Embassy in Washington, probably was not even single person in the audience, at least to record what Mr. Poposki said and whom he met with, commented, “Paron”.

In addition, the weekly newspaper “Epikera” yesterday wrote about the “American scenario” for Macedonia to join NATO. According to diplomatic sources of the weekly magazine, U.S. President Barack Obama will personally engage for integration of Skopje in the Alliance, “which is especially bad for Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, as his interference would pull on his side the entire U.S. diplomacy and foreign leaders.”

Griechenland: 2,5 MRD Euro Stromschulden – Versorger schaltet bald erste 50.000 Kunden ab!

In Griechenland wird der staatliche Stromversorger in Kürze damit beginnen in einem ersten Schritt 50.000 Stromkunden den Saft abzudrehen. Die Außenstände belaufen sich insg. auf 2,5 Milliarden Euro. Betroffen werden vor allem Firmenkunden sein. Eine Katastrophe für die (vorhandene?) Konjunkturerholung. Es gibt einen handfesten Grund, warum die Höhe der Stromrechnungen in den letzten Jahren explodierte… Griechenlands staatlicher Stromversorger PPC hat Außenstände bei Stromkunden von insg. 2,5 Milliarden Euro, 1,8 Milliarden davon bei gewerblichen Kunden. Schulden haben insg. 2,1 Mio Stromkunden in Griechenland. Wenn man das umlegt auf die Gesamtsumme, wären das rein rechnerisch 1.190 Euro Schulden pro Stromkunde, aber bei 1,8 von 2,5 Milliarden Schulden durch gewerbliche Kunden dürften die Privatkunden natürlich deutlich kleinere Summen offen haben. Griechenland: Sozialkassen schaffen parallele Staatsverschuldung

FMW-Redatkion Die Sozialkassen in Griechenland schaffen derzeit eine Art parallele Staatsverschuldung. Da die annehmen, dass ihre Löcher aus den jetzt fließenden 86 Milliarden Euro vom 3. Hilfspaket nicht gestopft werden, haben sie angefangen in Eigenregie Kredite aufzunehmen. Da sie Rentenfonds, Krankenkassen etc staatliche Einrichtungen sind, erhöht sich damit per Saldo die Staatsschuldenlast Griechenlands noch weiter, auch wenn der Staat Griechenland kaum darum bemüht sein dürfte diese Extra-Schulden in seine eigenen Schulden einzurechnen. Aber Schulden sind Schulden. Wie die angesehene griechische Zeitung „Ekathimerini“ berichtet, hat das „Social Insurance Institute“ im August ein kurzfristiges Darlehen (wird wohl eine Dauerumschuldung) über 110 Mio Euro aufgenommen. 70 Mio davon gab man an seinen öffentlichen Versicherungsfonds weiter, 40 Mio davon an seinen kommunalen Versicherungsfonds. The movie, entitled The People’s Revolution Upon the Ministers' Wives, has been produced by Sirina (Siren) Productions and can be included in the genre of “politicised or austerity porn”. “2012.
