It is clear that justice in dispute with Greece is on the Macedonian side for the MEP

MEPs are aware and clearly indicate that justice in the name dispute between Macedonia and Greece is on our side, says in a statement for MIA the Parliament deputy, Aleksandar Nikolovski, who nowadays resides in Brussels at the European Assembly of the EPP.



Nikolovski, who along with his colleague Haralampie Shokarovski is on several days visit to the European capital and had a meeting with the parliamentary group of the EPP in the European Parliament, the Secretariat, and Advisors for political issues and for party expanding.

Nikolovski and Shokarovski had bilateral meetings with MEPs from Croatia, Davor Shtier and Zdravko Bushikj, and Vice President of EP Otmar Karas as well as the shadow reporter for Macedonia, Edvard Kukan.

- At the meeting primarily was discussed for improving cooperation between the sister parties within the EPP and the cooperation of the region with the European Union. From our side was reaffirmed the commitment of the Republic of Macedonia for EU membership and welcomed the fifth recommendation of the European Commission to start negotiations, said Nikoloski.

The deputies Nikoloski and Shokarovski sought EP again to support our country for EU membership and the start of negotiations under Resolution of the European Parliament for Macedonia and were discussed the ongoing reforms in Macedonia, the situation in Parliament, political dialogue, the media and the possibilities for positive outcome of the European Council Summit in December.

- We emphasize that excessive waiting of Macedonia and keeping it outside creates negative atmosphere in the country in terms of European integration. Especially we stressed that Croatia had candidate status at the same time as our country, but they are already members of the EU and have MPs at the European Parliament, while we have not begun with negotiations although we are eligible, only due to the Greek veto. In this context, we pointed out that even though we have high support for EU membership, still there is growing skepticism among Macedonian citizens against unjust act of the Union, adds Nikolovski.

According to the Macedonian deputies from the ruling VMRO – DPMNE, at the meeting with Slovak MEP Edvard Kukan, he pointed out that the only problem for Macedonia ‘s EU integration is Greece and that he expects the so-called deja – vu situation to be repeated.

- In terms of the Greek relation towards the European Parliament, Kukan said that Greek MEP Marietta Janaki and other Greek MEPs directly accuse Macedonia for stalled European integration, although the reality is not like that. I said that Macedonia is trying to find a mutually acceptable solution, but it is impossible when on the other side, we have the political blackmail and use the argument of force rather than the force of argument, adds Nikoloski.

According to the deputy Shokarovski, Republic of Macedonia has, as well as the past had, support from the EP, but as he said, unfortunately, the legislative house has no way to affect the Council and MEPs are saying that openly.

- Everybody knows on whose side is justice and they highlight that on each meeting, says Shokarovski.

Griechenland: 2,5 MRD Euro Stromschulden – Versorger schaltet bald erste 50.000 Kunden ab!

In Griechenland wird der staatliche Stromversorger in Kürze damit beginnen in einem ersten Schritt 50.000 Stromkunden den Saft abzudrehen. Die Außenstände belaufen sich insg. auf 2,5 Milliarden Euro. Betroffen werden vor allem Firmenkunden sein. Eine Katastrophe für die (vorhandene?) Konjunkturerholung. Es gibt einen handfesten Grund, warum die Höhe der Stromrechnungen in den letzten Jahren explodierte… Griechenlands staatlicher Stromversorger PPC hat Außenstände bei Stromkunden von insg. 2,5 Milliarden Euro, 1,8 Milliarden davon bei gewerblichen Kunden. Schulden haben insg. 2,1 Mio Stromkunden in Griechenland. Wenn man das umlegt auf die Gesamtsumme, wären das rein rechnerisch 1.190 Euro Schulden pro Stromkunde, aber bei 1,8 von 2,5 Milliarden Schulden durch gewerbliche Kunden dürften die Privatkunden natürlich deutlich kleinere Summen offen haben. Griechenland: Sozialkassen schaffen parallele Staatsverschuldung

FMW-Redatkion Die Sozialkassen in Griechenland schaffen derzeit eine Art parallele Staatsverschuldung. Da die annehmen, dass ihre Löcher aus den jetzt fließenden 86 Milliarden Euro vom 3. Hilfspaket nicht gestopft werden, haben sie angefangen in Eigenregie Kredite aufzunehmen. Da sie Rentenfonds, Krankenkassen etc staatliche Einrichtungen sind, erhöht sich damit per Saldo die Staatsschuldenlast Griechenlands noch weiter, auch wenn der Staat Griechenland kaum darum bemüht sein dürfte diese Extra-Schulden in seine eigenen Schulden einzurechnen. Aber Schulden sind Schulden. Wie die angesehene griechische Zeitung „Ekathimerini“ berichtet, hat das „Social Insurance Institute“ im August ein kurzfristiges Darlehen (wird wohl eine Dauerumschuldung) über 110 Mio Euro aufgenommen. 70 Mio davon gab man an seinen öffentlichen Versicherungsfonds weiter, 40 Mio davon an seinen kommunalen Versicherungsfonds.
