Sekerinska’s Statements make the Greeks happy
The synchronization of the opposition SDSM and the southern neighbor’s views continues. As Netpress’ correspondent of Athens said, Many Greek media give considerable space for the Vice -President of SDSM Radmila Sekerinska’s interview, taken for the Greek version of “EurActiv”, in which she accused the Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski that he did not want to solve the problem that Athens has with our constitutional name – a thesis that the Greeks are trying to bring over to the international community for years.
“Njuzget”, “Tromaktiko”, “Du.gr”, “Aksortagos”, “Palo”, “Njuznau” , “Edisis”, “Zougla” … are just some of those who published the interview with Shekerinska, in which she, is fiercely attacking the Macedonian Prime Minister.
Under the title “Gruevski uses the name to create internal enemies”, the aforementioned media quote Shekerinska: “The opposition has criticized the Prime Minister that he focuses to create internal enemies over the issue, instead of trying to solve our bilateral problems” as stated in the Greek media texts, says Netpress.
Shekerinska did not say a word about the rejected initiatives for direct meetings, that Gruevski sent to his Greek counterpart, but she did not miss to complain to the Greeks that Gruevski allegedly did not make the necessary society reforms – a thesis that southern neighbor are also persistently trying to place within the European Union, in an attempt to obtain a negative report for Macedonia and not getting a recommendation date to start the accession negotiations with the EU.
One of the speculation in this context that the southern neighbor is trying to impose is the alleged poor condition of the media and freedom of speech in Macedonia, which accidentally or intentionally Shekerinska it confirms it.
“Talking about the deteriorating situation, Shekerinska mentioned the media’s problems, whose situation is tenuous, saying that the reporters are under enormous pressure,” as was reported by Greek media.
When they asked her about her opinion for the “perfect name” for our country, she did not point to our constitutional and historical name.
“When I was young I did not like my name, but I realized later that having a rare name may also help. So, the time is a factor. As a citizen of this country, I was raised with the name Macedonia and I truly do not understand the Greek position. But in the international politics, as well as in the internal, sometimes you have to solve those problems that seem irrational”, responded the Vice – President of SDSM.
This is not the first time for Shekerinska to give statements that cause damage to Macedonia, and are in favor of Greece. Recently she said that the Macedonian Prime Minister Gruevski was allegedly responsible for the bad Greece’s policy towards Macedonia, which incidentally lasts more than 100 years.
A few weeks ago, the Greek pro-government newspaper “Kathimerini” published a report on the project Skopje 2014 and the statements that strongly criticized the monuments of Macedonian heroes were made exclusively by members of SDSM.
If we add the statements of the party leader Zoran Zaev, that an acceptable name for them is a name with a geographic determinant and that we should stoop, this once again confirms that the attempt of SDSM to court to the Greeks and the international community brings only damages for Macedonia and Macedonians.
Southern neighbor and SDSM are on the same line when it comes to the “Spy” case, in attempts to discredit and present it as allegedly fabricated affair.
