More Bribery, Greece Ought to be Expelled from Tournament

One doesn't know should you be said for Greece and their non existent moral and ethical values, or should you be sad for FIBA's management who at the moment isn't competent to run a lemonade stand!

Now FIBA has confirmed that Greece did make an attempt to bribe referees and they apparently do it often?

As it turns out, Greece also tried to bribe (with 20,000 Euros), the German referee Robert Lottermoser in their match against Montenegro.

Lottermoser reported the Greek Basketball Federation to FIBA, and FIBA responded by fining the Greek Basketball federation the same amount, 20,000 euros.

Much to the shock and dismay of Lithuania and Germany who expected Greece to be kicked out from the tournament, instead FIBA's management said "This was an attempt to bribe, not an actual bribe" as oppose to 'attempt to kill, not an actual kill'.

Shockingly, it seemed as if FIBA blamed the German referee for not accepting the money, so instead FIBA's management did!!!

What a sad day for basketball. It makes one wonder how legitimate this competition is (certainly not when Greece plays)?

Pay attention to a 'report' filed by FIBA (it's almost impossible to find it on their website). The report is so simplisticas if nothing important happened. There are no reports on the other bribes by Greece, rather FIBA summarized them all in two sentences!

MINA's Pero Stamatovski believes if there was other nation being caught bribing officials they would have been expelled for at least 2-3 years from international basketball. However, Greece has a major clout with FIBA's management, hence the laughable fines and on top of that they are allowed to compete...

As for Greece, we continue to ask how low can this country go, and they continue to surprise us by sinking lower and lower.... and lower.
