Delavekouras: Mazedonien macht schlechte Propaganda gegen Griechenland

Delavekouras: Skopje runs negative propaganda against Greece

Gregory Delavekouras, spokesperson for Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, blamed Macedonia for running a negative campaign against Greece.

Overcoming name issue and unblocking Macedonia’s road to EU and NATO is in the hands of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Delavekouras said in his interview for VIMA radio.

‘We can resolve name issue right away, but only if the government of Gruevski decides to unblock the European future of its country. Skopje continues to run negative campaign against Greece. We believe that having good-neighborly relations will benefit both countries as having good-neighborly relations is one of the conditions for joining the EU and NATO. But, this decision is in the hands of Mr. Gruevski. If Gruevski decides that it’s time for Skopje to step forward, we can do that by agreeing on a solution with geographic qualifier for all purposes’, Delavekouras said.

Delavekouras also condemned Macedonia’s move to erect a giant statue of Alexander the Great in the heart of the capital, Skopje, as crossing all lines. /end/tz

Makedonisten Kommentar:
