Kotzias discussed with Mogerini and Mitov about Macedonia
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and the European Union’s top foreign policy official, Federica Mogherini on Thursday discussed about Macedonia and both expressed concern over the latest developments.
This has been stated by the Greek Foreign Ministry adding that both diplomats also discussed the situation in Ukraine and the upcoming Foreign Affairs Council and June European Council, which will deal with Common Security and Defence Policy issues.
Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and the European Union’s top foreign policy official, Federica Mogherini, on Thursday discussed rising tensions in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, which have led to FYROM resurrecting demands for its accession to the EU and NATO despite an ongoing dispute with Greece over the Balkan state’s official name, Kathimerini daily reads.
Kotzias also met with his Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov for talks that touched on the FYROM situation and focused on prospects for cooperation between Greece and Bulgaria, chiefly in the energy sector, daily reads.
Kotzias and Mogherini met on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Antalya, southwestern Turkey.
