MACEDONIAN MINORITY FORGOTTEN IN THE NEW REPORT OF ECRI ON GREECE

European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) at midnight will announce the latest, fifth report on Greece. As MIA reports from Strasbourg, unlike the previous four reports of ECRI on Greece, the latest, never mentioned the Macedonian minority, that Greek government officially does not recognize. Greece recognizes only religious, Muslim minority in Thrace, according to the obligations of the Treaty of Lausanne.

This omission of the Macedonian minority, according to the explanations in Strasbourg, is due to the new methodology in the work of the Commission, which provides it to devote to a few topics.

In this case, ECRI deals with the right of the Muslim minority in Thrace, the situation of Roma and immigrants and asylum seekers. Although having said that other problems are not forgotten.

In the previous four reports of ECRI was found violations of the rights of the Macedonian minority, so its omission surprises.

Given that the next report will be in a few years, for Greece there is no monitoring of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities which Athens has not ratified.

Not accepting Macedonian minority in the latest report by ECRI, led to a severe reaction of Macedonian ambassador at the Council of Europe, Petar Pop Arsov, at the meeting of the Committee of Ministers when the report was discussed.

Macedonian Ambassador had criticism on the chosen methodology for the preparation of the report, which allowed forgetting the Macedonian minority in Greece.

Macedonian representative to the Committee of Ministers asked to open debate in the Committee of Ministers on the manner of determining the monitoring methodology.

He then noted that ECRI has to deal with its reports to the situation on the Macedonian minority, given that Greece has not ratified the Framework Convention. He then received support from other ambassadors because "this methodology is unacceptable."

Wenn man das umlegt auf die Gesamtsumme, wären das rein rechnerisch 1.190 Euro Schulden pro Stromkunde, aber bei 1,8 von 2,5 Milliarden Schulden durch gewerbliche Kunden dürften die Privatkunden natürlich deutlich kleinere Summen offen haben. Griechenland: Sozialkassen schaffen parallele Staatsverschuldung

FMW-Redatkion Die Sozialkassen in Griechenland schaffen derzeit eine Art parallele Staatsverschuldung. Da die annehmen, dass ihre Löcher aus den jetzt fließenden 86 Milliarden Euro vom 3. Hilfspaket nicht gestopft werden, haben sie angefangen in Eigenregie Kredite aufzunehmen. Da sie Rentenfonds, Krankenkassen etc staatliche Einrichtungen sind, erhöht sich damit per Saldo die Staatsschuldenlast Griechenlands noch weiter, auch wenn der Staat Griechenland kaum darum bemüht sein dürfte diese Extra-Schulden in seine eigenen Schulden einzurechnen. Aber Schulden sind Schulden. Wie die angesehene griechische Zeitung „Ekathimerini“ berichtet, hat das „Social Insurance Institute“ im August ein kurzfristiges Darlehen (wird wohl eine Dauerumschuldung) über 110 Mio Euro aufgenommen. 70 Mio davon gab man an seinen öffentlichen Versicherungsfonds weiter, 40 Mio davon an seinen kommunalen Versicherungsfonds. The movie, entitled The People’s Revolution Upon the Ministers' Wives, has been produced by Sirina (Siren) Productions and can be included in the genre of “politicised or austerity porn”. “2012.
