Resolution of the dispute in the coming weeks

In the coming weeks Ambassador Matthew Nimetz will convene a new meeting of intermediaries in the name dispute, in New York,.


Nimitz plans to call representatives of both sides again in New York in the coming weeks . The Secretary-General sincerely hopes that these discussions will set the stage for serious negotiations to find a mutually acceptable solution that would be in the interest of both sides , and the entire Balkan region .

UN Secretary General Ban Ki- moon in New York yesterday met with the head of the Greek Delegation , Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos .

Venizelos said Greece insists on its initial position , a name that will be used erga omnes .

Spokesperson Nesirky said they talk about Nimetz's proposal ad for convergence of views on both sides .

Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski yesterday began the visit to New York , where he will attend a reception hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama . On 27 September will address at the UN General Assembly , and will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki- moon .

In New York attended and Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki . He held a meeting with OSCE Secretary General and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand .

It was not clear whether there will be organized meeting between Macedonian and Greek delegation.

Das griechische Parlament hat am Dienstagabend einem weiteren Reformpaket zugestimmt. 152 der 153 Parlamentarier der Regierungskoalition aus der linken Partei Syriza und der rechtspopulistischen Partei der Unabhängigen Griechen (Anel) stimmten im 300-köpfigen Parlament mit knapper Mehrheit dafür. Erbitterter Kampf Umstritten war vor allem der geplante Verkauf griechischen Staatseigentums wie den Wasser- und Gaswerken des Landes, aber auch verschiedener Flughäfen, Autobahnen und Häfen. Nikos Dimou: Greece has already lost in the name issue

Ninety – five percent of the countries in the world accept the name Macedonia, and we continue to discuss this, said Nikos Dimou, a member of the Greek political party “Potami” (River) when guesting the show on Sky television.
