Greek Journalist Fan of Macedonian Eurobasket team

Tanasis Asprulias, radio broadcaster for Greek station SentraGoal may be the only sport broadcaster in Greece who didn't mix sport and politics. While his colleagues talked about fan provocations, type of flags, he focused on basketball.

"I am sorry, but I have no plans to take part of this national mourning because our neighbors win matches! When you look at athletes diving for every ball, leaving their heart on the floor, when you see group of men playing like brothers, there is just no place for politics!" said Asprulias, not hiding his symphaty towards the Macedonian basketball team.

He even sat down to interview few of the Macedonian players and the coach.

Interestingly enough, Asprulias asked what the coach thought about TAV and the Government providing chartered flights to Kaunas, even though the basketball team had to use a normal flight with 2 stops to get to Lithuania.

"My friend, we don't play for money or a decent flight, we play for Macedonia", was the response from coach Dokuzovski.

Incredibly, the Macedonian basketball team will get 3,000 euros per player for being in the top 4 nations in Europe, while each player in the Macedonian football team gets 3,000 euros for a win over Andorra! Something is not right...
