Greek Businesses Look to Move to Macedonia

Greek businessmen have shown interest in moving their enterprises to Macedonia in order to avoid the huge taxes adopted by the Greek government as part of their austerity plans, says Skopje based business magazine "Kapital" citing diplomatic sources.

For the time being, no Greek enterprises have made a final decision about moving to Macedonia, but more and more managers are asking questions about investment terms in Macedonia.

Several Greek businessmen have already contacted the Consular Office in Skopje in order to obtain information about the conditions and possibilities for moving their businesses to Macedonia.

However, they are also interested in other locations in several Balkan countries in which they might realize profitable investments. They are also interested in Bulgaria, in which the situation is different than in Macedonia since the country is a member of the EU
