Athen favorisiert Crvenkovski
Greece Dreams of Branko, Dreads Gruevski Re-Election
According to the polls and the overall public opinion, Greek analysts are certain Gruevski will receive another mandate, and Athens isn't capable of making any headway in regards to changing Macedonia's name, says Naftemporiki.
"VMRO-DPMNE is not interested in reviewing any ideas that will threaten Macedonians' identity, nor do they accept any change in the name of the nation and language. Any solution that would appear serious enough will then be put through a referendum which is also unacceptable for Athens," says Naftemporiki.
Although Branko Crvenkovski has support, it's not enough to defeat his rival. According to the Greek paper, Gruevski is simply not someone the Greek Government wants to see win. Athens is putting all of its eggs in support of Branko Crvenkovski and the SDSM (is this where the coffee, napolitanki and lokum comes?).
All of Athens dailies come to the same conclusion: Gruevski is not as easy to negotiate as Crvenkovski.
