Internationale Reiseveranstalter verlangen von den Hoteliers in Griechenland bei neuen Vertragsabschlüssen angeblich Sonderklauseln für den Fall eines Ausscheidens des pleitebedrohten Landes aus der Eurogruppe. Wie die Zeitung "Kathimerini" am Donnerstag berichtete, wollen mehrere Tourismuskonzerne die "Drachmen-Klauseln" in die Verträge für die Reisesaison 2016 aufnehmen. Die Unternehmen wollten sich damit für den Fall absichern, dass Griechenland die gemeinsame Währung verlassen ("Grexit") und zur Drachme zurückkehren müsse. Danach sollen die griechischen Hoteliers für zusätzliche Kosten aufkommen, die den Reiseveranstaltern durch einen "Grexit" entstehen könnten. Tensions between Albania and Greece are rising following Tirana’s official complaint to Athens regarding territorial claims along the border between the two countries, Greek Reporter said. In the official complaint, the Albanian government asked Greece to review its plans for hydrocarbon exploration in the Ionian Sea, citing that it violates the territorial integrity of Albania. Furthermore, Albania demanded Greece to present maps of land explorations in Epirus, the bordering region between the two neighbors. It is worth mentioning that when Greece conducted hydrocarbon surveys in the region in 2011, there was no reaction from Albania, Sputnik reports. MPs of the Greek opposition party New Democracy are asking Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Kotzias to "inform about the developments in the neighboring countries regarding the stability in the wider region of Greece." Coordinator of Foreign Policy and Security of New Democracy Kostas Tasoulas expressed concern about "the rise of Turkish provocations in the Aegean Sea and the tensions in Skopje", while the last demand of Albania about the maps of land research in Epirus, he called "unacceptable provocation ".

Greece will send an official note to NATO because the Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg used Macedonia's constitutional name instead of the interim reference.  This happened during the joint meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Defense ministers from the European Union. The Greek protest note will be handed over to NATO by the permanent representative of Greece in the Alliance.

Greece's Foreign Minister, Nikos Kotzias is to pay a visit to Skopje in June, in the frames of his tour of Western Balkan countries' capitals. The information has been announced by several Greek media, including the Kathimerini newspaper, following the Wednesday's meeting between the Macedonian Foreign Minister Niikola Poposki and his Greek counterpart on the sidelines of NATO's North-Atlantic Council ministerial meeting in Antalya, Turkey. The Greek Foreign Ministry said that at the meeting Kotzias offered deep condolences in the behalf of his government to the families of the victims in the latest crisis in Macedonia, as well as that he expressed 'concern for the situation, pointing that restraint, reason and dialogue have to prevail'. Developments in Macedonia have raised the alarm in Greece, reported Netpress' Athens correspondent. For the majority of the Greek public it is already certain that the attempted coup and destabilization by the SDSM in cooperation with foreign agencies is needed in order to overthrow the government and prevent the progress of the Turkish stream. This thesis was further strengthened after the last statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry in which it says the opposition SDSM, Soros NGO and a Western country want to cause a 'color revolution' in Macedonia. Tourists to Greek islands will be forced to pay an 18 percent tax on hotel and restaurant bills so that Athens can raise money to appease Brussels, The Australian reports.  The plans were denounced as “catastrophic” by heads of tourism and came as officials at the European Central Bank drew up plans for a parallel currency for Greece as the country hurtles towards bankruptcy. Yves Mersch, a member of the bank’s executive board, admitted that there were preparations for a Greek default. “There are intermediate solutions circulating, such as the issuance of a parallel currency or IOUs,” he told the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. “All these measures are among the exceptional tools that any government can consider if it has no other options. But all of them have a high cost.” The Greek government is refusing to surrender austerity “red lines” to the eurozone ahead of negotiations on Monday, raising the prospect of the ECB pulling the plug on the country’s banks.
