Greeks go crazy - Macedonian Transport Minister uses the Name "Macedonia" at Milan Meeting

Greece’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, Michalis Papadopoulos has condemned the use of the term the "Republic of Macedonia" by the Macedonian Minister of Transport Mile Janakieski during the informal ministerial meeting taking place in Milan, Italy.


The Minister for Transport, who takes part here as an observer, asked to speak at the meeting, said Papadopoulos for the Greek state-run news agency ANA-MPA. After the positive answer by the Italian Presidency, Janakieski used the term "the Republic of Macedonia" constantly in his speech, which has prompted the Greek deputy minister to intervene, by condemning the behavior of the Macedonian politician.


"I underlined that in the frames of the entire European family the country’s official name is FYROM. That is why there should not be and must not be such manipulations by the observers who attend the Union’s meetings, because in that way they can create serious problems in terms of cooperation with Greece," Papadopoulos reportedly said.

According to Greek media, the country’s deputy transport minister also said that "everybody should respect European standards," a statement which had won him the full support of the Italian Presidency, reports indicate.

Yesterday and today in Milan, an informal meeting of ministers is taking place, with the central topic of discussion being trans-European transport networks, as the host is the Italian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Maurizio Lupi. At the meeting, besides transport ministers from the EU member states, Siim Kallas, Vice President of the European Commission in charge of transport and a number of mayors of larger European cities also attended.

Griechenland: 2,5 MRD Euro Stromschulden – Versorger schaltet bald erste 50.000 Kunden ab!

In Griechenland wird der staatliche Stromversorger in Kürze damit beginnen in einem ersten Schritt 50.000 Stromkunden den Saft abzudrehen. Die Außenstände belaufen sich insg. auf 2,5 Milliarden Euro. Betroffen werden vor allem Firmenkunden sein. Eine Katastrophe für die (vorhandene?) Konjunkturerholung. Es gibt einen handfesten Grund, warum die Höhe der Stromrechnungen in den letzten Jahren explodierte… Griechenlands staatlicher Stromversorger PPC hat Außenstände bei Stromkunden von insg. 2,5 Milliarden Euro, 1,8 Milliarden davon bei gewerblichen Kunden. Schulden haben insg. 2,1 Mio Stromkunden in Griechenland. Wenn man das umlegt auf die Gesamtsumme, wären das rein rechnerisch 1.190 Euro Schulden pro Stromkunde, aber bei 1,8 von 2,5 Milliarden Schulden durch gewerbliche Kunden dürften die Privatkunden natürlich deutlich kleinere Summen offen haben. Aus Respekt gegenüber unseren südlichen Nachbarn (und natürlich mit der Bitte das sich unsere westlichen Nachbarn nicht deswegen diskriminiert fühlen), habe ich bewusst nur 99. Fakten übertragen. In dem Fall, kam der typische makedonische Trotz in mir zum Vorschein... "Was Du kannst, kann ich schon lange und natürlich besser" und damit überlasse ich nun den Fakten den Vortritt, ohne aber zu Vergessen euch darauf hinzuweisen das bald ein Thema folgen wird das das "slawische" Element im Modernen Griechenland behandeln wird. The movie, entitled The People’s Revolution Upon the Ministers' Wives, has been produced by Sirina (Siren) Productions and can be included in the genre of “politicised or austerity porn”. “2012. The dominant emotion of impoverished Greece is disappointment.
