Macedonian delegation in EU asks for Monitoring of Greece Friday, 29 June 2012 Head of Macedonia's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Aleksandar Nikoloski, called Friday at a plenary session in Strasbourg for a dialogue to be launched with Greece on monitoring its fulfilment of obligations as CoE member. Should countries, who are not subject to monitoring procedure, be less respectful of the set standards, Nikolovski said. He pointed out that Greece had been failing to respect the minorities, depriving them of the right to nourish their language, culture and traditions. The 2011 report of CoE Human Rights Commissioner Thomas Hammarberg clearly says that the Albanian, Turkish and Macedonian minorities in Greece cannot advance as the country fails to respect their human rights.
