Police have announced that 35 people were taken into custody in connection with the murder of two police officers who were shot last March in a suburb of Piraeus, while chasing thieves. The officers carrying out the investigation informed the media that after a huge operation, two main suspects were arrested and they were still looking for two others. They also mentioned that their efforts to find the people involved in the case were supported by the Security Police of Attica, the Counter-Terrorism Service and the Special Counter-Terrorism Unit.
After the incident they joined forces to search different locations around Athens. They finally discovered two of the four suspects who are thought to have been involved in the killing of the two young men. The National Intelligence Service’s help was also very useful in the investigation.
