Terror link probed to Greek shootout, two policemen injured

Police in Greece say anti-terrorism officers are investigating a shootout in Athens that left two policemen and a third man injured with gunshot wounds, AP reports.

The incident occured late Wednesday in the afluent suburb of Pefki, north of the capital. Police said at least two men opened fire on officers who were investigating a motorcycle theft.

One of the suspects used the patrol car to flee the scene, and abandoned the vehicle nearby. The injured man, believed to be the second suspect, has been hospitalized under police guard.

Armed far-left and anarchist groups have frequently targeted police in past attacks.
